Break Point (film)
''Break Point'' is a U.S. comedy film directed by Jay Karas. The film stars Jeremy Sisto and David Walton (actor), David Walton as two estranged brothers (and former tennis partners) who reunite and decide to make a run at a grand slam tournament. The film first premiered at South by Southwest Film Festival on March 8, 2014. The film was released on July 21, 2015 on video on demand prior to the film being released in a limited release on September 4, 2015. Plot Brash man-child Jimmy Price knows his days as a doubles tennis player are nearly finished. Since he's burned practically all of his bridges on the pro circuit, it's a huge blow when his latest partner drops him. With no other option, he tries to revive his career by convincing his estranged brother (and former tennis partner) Darren to join him on the court. Break Point is an Indian documentary series from ZEE5 directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, produced by Earthsky Pictures. The series is inspired by the successful Indian tennis doubles duo Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes. Plot The story follows the professional and personal relationship between former Indian tennis doubles players Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes leading to and following their Wimbledon win in 1999. Cast Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi play themselves. Production Nitesh Tiwari interviews the Indian tennis doubles duo Paes and Bhupathi and their family members. Tiwari also interviews other Indian tennis players and the duo's international partners. Archive footage and short interviews with Sania Mirza and Amitabh Bachchan are used. ''Break Point'' was a documentary series produced in collaboration between Netflix, Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and Women's Tennis Association (WTA) to give a behind-the-scenes look at some of the major players and tournaments during the 2022 and 2023 ATP Tour and WTA Tour. The first part, consisting of five episodes and focusing on the 2022 Australian Open, Indian Wells Masters, Madrid Open, and French Open, was released on 13 January 2023, while the second part, consisting of five episodes and focusing on the 2022 Wimbledon, Eastbourne International, Queen's Club, U.S. Open, WTA Finals, and ATP Finals, was released on 21 June 2023. In March 2023, the series was renewed for a second season that was released on 10 January 2024. On March 8, 2024, Netflix cancelled the series. Rosie Rushton (born 1946) is a British author who wrote several novels for teenagers. Rushton is a researcher and music facilitator based in the West Midlands, where she has established herself as a specialist in music provision for individuals with learning disabilities. Rushton began her career as a feature writer for the local paper. ''Staying Cool, Surviving School'' was her first book, published by Piccadilly Press in 1993.
