Bratislav Anastasijević
Bratislav "Bata" Anastasijević (18 April 1936, Niš, Serbia, Yugoslavia – 12 October 1992, Niš) was a university music professor, pianist, composer, conductor, Ethnomusicology, ethnomusicologist, leader of vocal quartets, quintets, sextets, octets. He also conducted the Naissus Big Band Orchestra. His innovations in music style and genre contributed significantly and permanently to the development of jazz music, stage music and Serbs, Serbian ethno music in Yugoslavia. He was also one of the founders of the democratic party in Yugoslavia (Niš). Yıldız İbrahimova ( ''Yǎldǎz Ibrahimova'', ; born 1952 in Silistra) is a Bulgarian singer of Turkish ancestry. Besides jazz, she has also recorded Music of Bulgaria, Bulgarian, Turkish folk music, Turkish, Romani music, Gypsy and Music of Russia, Russian folk songs. She married Ali Dinçer, a Turkish politician, also born in Bulgaria and former mayor of Ankara, in 1993. Since then she has lived in Turkey. Her husband died in 2007. Randal Edward Brecker (born November 27, 1945) is an American trumpeter, flugelhornist, and composer. His versatility has made him a popular studio musician who has recorded with acts in jazz, rock music, rock, and R&B. Early life Brecker was born on November 27, 1945, in the Philadelphia suburb of Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, Cheltenham to a musical family. His father Bob (Bobby) was a lawyer who played jazz piano, and his mother Sylvia was a portrait artist. Randy described his father as "a semipro jazz pianist and trumpet fanatic. Stochelo Rosenberg
Stochelo Rosenberg (born 19 February 1968) is a Gypsy jazz guitarist who leads the Rosenberg Trio. Biography Rosenberg started playing guitar when he was ten years old. A member of the Sinti, he heard music often at home and from relatives. With his cousins Nonnie Rosenberg and Nous'che Rosenberg he started the Rosenberg Trio in 1989, playing in the annual Django Reinhardt festival in Samois. In the 1990s they accompanied Stephane Grappelli on tour and recorded with him, including a concert at Carnegie Hall that celebrated his 85th birthday. He started the Rosenberg Academy, an online school devoted to teaching Gypsy jazz. Donaldson Toussaint L'Ouverture Byrd II (December 9, 1932 – February 4, 2013) was an American jazz and rhythm & blues trumpeter, composer and vocalist. William Emanuel Cobham Jr. (born May 16, 1944) is a Panamanian–American jazz drummer who came to prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s with trumpeter Miles Davis and then with the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Philip Catherine (born 27 October 1942) is a Belgian jazz rock guitarist. Biography Philip Catherine was born in London, England, to an English mother and Belgian father, and was raised in Brussels, Belgium. His grandfather was a violinist in the London Symphony Orchestra. Catherine started on guitar in his teens, and by seventeen he was performing professionally at local venues. He released his debut album, ''Stream'', in 1972. During the next few years, he studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and with Mick Goodrick and George Russell (composer), George Russell.
