Branka ( sr-cyr, Бранка) is a Serbo-Croatian female given name derived from the Slavic root ''bran'' – the same as in Branislav and Branimir – with the meaning "to defend or protect". Branka U Opavy
Branka u Opavy is a municipality and village in Opava District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,100 inhabitants. Geography Branka u Opavy is located about south of Opava and west of Ostrava. The northern part of the municipality lies in the Głubczyce Plateau, Opava Hilly Land and the southern part lies in the Nízký Jeseník range. The highest point is at above sea level. Branka Raunig
Branka Raunig (; 1 January 1935 – 13 June 2008) was a Bosnian archaeologist, Prehistory, prehistorian and Curator, museum curator. Early life Raunig was born in Sarajevo on 1 January 1935. Her early life was spent in Kraljevo. From 1954 to 1958 she studied archaeology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade. One of her tutors was Branko Gavela. Career After graduation, Raunig moved to Bosnia Herzegovina, where she was employed at Pounja Museum, Pounje Museum in Bihać. It was working there, on the archaeological material relating to the Japodi, that a lifelong academic interest began. In 1963, Raunig moved to Museum of the Đakovo Region where she continued her work on the Japodi, with a focus on the Pounje area. Material from that region became the subject of her Masters dissertation, which she was awarded in 1971. From 1987 Raunig was director of the Pounje Museum, until her retirement in 1998. Branka Prpa (born 1953 in Split (city), Split, People's Republic of Croatia, PR Croatia, Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia, FPR Yugoslavia) is a historian, author, and former director of Belgrade's Historical Archives (''Istorijski arhiv Beograda'').
