Brandon Saad
Brandon Saad (born October 27, 1992) is an American professional ice hockey forward for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). Saad grew up playing hockey in his home state of Pennsylvania before joining the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League, playing two seasons with the team before being drafted in the second round, 43rd overall, by the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League in the 2011 NHL entry draft. After debuting with the Blackhawks the following season, he briefly joined the team's minor league affiliate before becoming a full-time member of the roster beginning in 2013. He is a two-time Stanley Cup champion having won with the Blackhawks in 2013 and 2015. The Blackhawks traded Saad to the Columbus Blue Jackets before the 2015–16 NHL season, during which he was named an NHL All-Star. 2009–10 USHL Season
The 2009–10 USHL season is the 31st season of the United States Hockey League as an all-junior league. The regular season began on October 2, 2009, and concluded on April 3, 2010, with the regular season champion winning the Anderson Cup. The 2009–10 USHL season was the first to include both the Youngstown Phantoms and the US Nation Team Development Program, both of whom left the North American Hockey League. As a result of two new teams being added to the East Division, the Des Moines Buccaneers were moved to the West Division. The Clark Cup playoffs featured the top four teams from each division competing for the league title. 2009 World U-17 Hockey Challenge
The 2009 World U-17 Hockey Challenge was an international ice hockey tournament held in Campbell River, Courtenay, Duncan, Nanaimo, Parksville, and Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada between December 29, 2008 and January 4, 2009. The venues used for the tournament included the Strathcona Gardens in Campbell River, the Comox Valley Sports Center in Courtenay, the Cowichan Valley Arena in Duncan, the Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo, Oceanside Place in Parksville, and the Alberni Valley Multiplex in Port Alberni. The North American Hockey League (NAHL) is one of the top junior hockey leagues in the United States and is in its 50th season of operation in 2024–25. It is the only Tier II junior league sanctioned by USA Hockey, and acts as an alternative for those who would not or did not make the roster of a team in the Major Junior Canadian Hockey League (CHL) nor Tier I United States Hockey League (USHL). USA Hockey National Team Development Program
The United States National Team Development Program (NTDP) represents the United States in the IIHF World U18 Championship. Additionally the team plays domestically against opponents in the United States Hockey League (under-17 and under-18 teams), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (under-18 team), and other international tournaments. The program was started in 1996 by USA Hockey as a way to identify elite ice hockey players under the age of 18, and centralize their training. There are two teams in the program: under-17 and under-18. Both teams are based in Plymouth, Michigan. Pine-Richland High School is a large public high school located at 700 Warrendale Road, in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is the only high school in the Pine-Richland School District and is located in Pine Township. In the 2018–2019 school year, the enrollment was 1,543 students. Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament
The Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament () is an annual minor ice hockey event in Quebec City. The tournament was founded in 1960 to coincide with the Quebec Winter Carnival, and give an opportunity for international competition to players less than 12 years old. The tournament raises funds for the local Patro Roc-Amadour foundation, and is operated mostly by volunteers, with a few staff. The event takes place each year in February at Videotron Centre, and previously spent 56 seasons at Colisée Pepsi, Quebec Coliseum. In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal.
