Brandenburger SC Süd is a German association football club from the town of Brandenburg, in the federal state of the same name. The footballers are part of a larger sports club that also has departments for bowling, canoeing, cycling, swimming, and volleyball. __TOC__ History ''SC'' was established in 1945 as ''Sportgemeinde Brandenburg-West'' out of the former membership of ''Brandenburger Sport-Club 05'' which, like most other organizations in the country including sports and football clubs, was disbanded by occupying Allied authorities after World War II. Separate football leagues soon emerged in the western and Soviet-controlled areas of Germany and the Brandenburg side became part of the eastern competition. NOFV-Oberliga Nord
The NOFV-Oberliga Nord is the fifth tier of the German football league system in the northern states of the former East Germany and West Berlin. It covers the States of Germany, German states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and northern Saxony-Anhalt. It is one of fourteen Oberliga (football), Oberligas in German football. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, and until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier. The FDGB-Pokal (Freier Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund Pokal or Free German Trade Union Federation Cup) was an elimination football tournament held annually in East Germany. It was the second most important national title in East German football after the DDR-Oberliga championship. The founder of the competition was East Germany's major trade union. Werner Seelenbinder (2 August 1904 – 24 October 1944) was a German Communism, communist and amateur wrestling, wrestler. Early years Seelenbinder was born in Szczecin, Stettin, Province of Pomerania (1815–1945), Pomerania (modern-day Poland), and became a wrestler after training as a joiner. He had connections with the young people's workers' movement from an early age. Ernst Johannes Fritz Thälmann (; 16 April 1886 – 18 August 1944) was a German communist politician and leader of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) from 1925 to 1933. A committed communist, Thälmann sought to overthrow the liberal democracy of the Weimar Republic, especially during the instability of its final years. Under his leadership, the KPD became intimately associated with the government of the Soviet Union and the policies of Joseph Stalin.
