Boğaziçi Sultans
Boğaziçi Sultans is Turkey's first American football team, founded in 1987 at the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. Formerly named as ''Bogaziçi Elephants'', the team improved their game by practicing with American soldiers, and played their first game against another Turkish team with ''Istanbul Pistoflar'' winning 28-0. The team's head coach is Erdem Özsalih. The team plays in the American Football First League of Turkey and American Football University League of Turkey. History The Sultans were followed by other university teams such as Hacettepe Red Deers, İTÜ Hornets, Marmara Sharks and METU Falcons after 1993. Players from these teams founded many other teams all around Turkey. Sultans won many championships and played a leading role in the development of American football in Turkey. SBB Vukovi Beograd are an American football team from Belgrade, Serbia. After establishing in 2003, in just few years SBB Vukovi have become one of the best-organized and most successful American football teams in Eastern Europe. IFAF
The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) is the international governing body of American football associations. The IFAF oversees the organisation and promotion of all international competitions across both contact and non contact versions of the game, including the IFAF World Championship of American Football, which is held every four years. The IFAF became a provisionary member of SportAccord in 2003, and became a full SportAccord member in 2005. Koç Rams
The Koç Rams are an American football team in Istanbul, Turkey, which plays in the Turkish Gridiron Football First League. They also played in the 2022 season of the European League of Football (ELF), under the name ''Istanbul Rams''. History The Rams belong to the Koç University Sports Club located on the campus of Koç University in Sarıyer, Istanbul. ''Koç'' is the Turkish word for ''ram''. The team was founded in 2004. Gazi Warriors
Gazi Warriors is the American football team of Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey. It was founded in 1998 by a few students, and competes in the American Football First league of Turkey, American Football First League of Turkey and American Football University League of Turkey. Achievements Gazi Warriors became champion in the first season 2007-08 of the University League winning over another Ankara team Hacettepe Red Deers with 36–18 in the final game at Beypete Campus in Ankara. In the 2010-11 First League season, Gazi Warriors won their first ever championship title after defeating the defending champion Istanbul team Boğaziçi Sultans in the final match with six additional periods at the Sakarya Atatürk Stadium in Adapazarı that lasted a record time of around five hours.
