Boxxer
Boxxer, stylised as BOXXER, is a British professional boxing promotional company. Founded by Ben Shalom, Boxxer began as Ultimate Boxxer, organising eight-man professional boxing elimination tournaments starting in April 2018 and preceding to host a total of six tournaments under the original name. In August 2020, Ultimate Boxxer rebranded to Boxxer, and announced its first signee; the winner of the Ultimate Boxxer 3 tournament, Derrick Osaze. The following month, and under the new branding, Boxxer announced its seventh tournament, "Boxxer Series 7", would take place in November 2020 with a new four-man elimination format. In June 2021, it was announced that Boxxer had signed a four-year deal with Sky Sports. Shakan Pitters (born 31 July 1989) is an English professional boxer who held the British Boxing Board of Control, British light-heavyweight title in 2020. Derrick Osazemwinde (born 11 October 1993) is a British professional boxer. He became Ultimate Boxxer III middleweight champion in 2019. Osaze was born and raised in Peckham, London, but is now based in Nottingham where he also preaches at the God's Vineyard Ministry where he was ordained as a minister in 2018. Early life Osaze was born and raised in Peckham, South East London, and is the fifth born of six children. Aged 15, having been excluded from school thirteen times and on the verge of being permanently expelled due to anger management issues, he turned to Boxing in 2009 after it was recommended to him by a friend who said it would be a great way to channel his energy positively. Ben Shalom (born 1995) is a British boxing promoter. He is the youngest ever British boxing promoter and the founder of Boxxer. Early life Shalom was born in Manchester and grew up training with a number of local area boxers, giving him an early interest in the sport. He subsequently attended the University of Nottingham in pursuit of a law degree. During his time in university, he developed an interest in organizing and promoting night events. Career as a promoter At the age of 23, Shalom shifted careers. He obtained a promoter's licence from the British Boxing Board of Control and founded Boxxer, stylised as "BOXXER". Mikael Lawal is a British professional boxer who held the British cruiserweight title from 27 November 2022 until October 2023. Early life Lawal was born in Lagos, Nigeria but moved to the UK at age 1. He lived in the UK until the age of 13 when he moved back to Nigeria with his mother, who died a short while later.
