Boxley House
Madison is a town located in Rockingham County, North Carolina. At the 2020 census, the town had a total population of 2,132. Madison is part of the Greensboro-High Point Metropolitan Statistical Area of the Piedmont Triad metro region. It was home to the corporate headquarters of Remington Arms until 2020, when the company was made defunct by bankruptcy proceedings. It is still home to Marlin Firearms, which was an asset of Remington now owned by Sturm, Ruger & Co. History In 1940 artist Jean Watson painted the mural, ''Early Summer in North Carolina'', in the town's post office as a project commissioned by the Works Progress Administration. Jean Watson (artist)
Jean Watson is an American nurse theorist and nursing professor who is best known for her theory of human caring. She is the author of numerous texts, including ''Nursing: The Philosophy and Science of Caring''. Watson's research on caring has been incorporated into education and patient care at hundreds of nursing schools and healthcare facilities across the world. Biography Watson was born July 21, 1940, in Williamson, West Virginia, the youngest of eight children. She attended high school in West Virginia. Watson knew she wanted to be a nurse at the age of 10 when she saw a friend of her older sister having a seizure. Her father died suddenly when she was 16 years old, something she claims made her particularly sensitive to people and their suffering for the rest of her life. She attended the Lewis Gale School of Nursing located in Roanoke, Virginia, where she graduated in 1961.
