Boteni
Boteni is a commune in Argeș County, Muntenia, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Balabani, Boteni, Lunca, and Muscel. The commune is located in the northeastern part of the county, on the border with Dâmbovița County. It lies in the foothills of the Southern Carpathians, on the banks of the Argeș River. Petre Țuțea
Petre Țuțea (; 6 October 1902 – 3 December 1991) was a Romanian philosopher, journalist, and economist. Biography Early years and the Legionary Movement Petre Țuțea was born in the village of Boteni, Muscel County (now in Argeș County). His father, Petre Bădescu, was a Romanian Orthodox priest and his mother, Ana Țuțea, was of peasant stock. In 1920, after the Union of Transylvania with Romania, Țuțea left his village to finish high school in Cluj and went on to study law at the University of Cluj. After graduating, he obtained in 1929 a Ph.D. in Administrative Law, also at the University of Cluj. Southern Carpathians
The Southern Carpathians (also known as the Transylvanian Alps; ; ) are a group of mountain ranges located in southern Romania. They cover the part of the Carpathian Mountains located between the Prahova River in the east and the Timiș and Cerna Rivers in the west. To the south they are bounded by the Balkan Mountains in eastern Serbia. Argeș (river)
The Argeș () is a river in Southern Romania, a left tributary of the Danube. It is long, and its basin area is . Its source is in the Făgăraș Mountains, in the Southern Carpathians and it flows into the Danube at Oltenița. Its average discharge at the mouth is . The main city on the Argeș is Pitești. Upstream, it is retained by the Vidraru Dam, which has created Lake Vidraru. Its upper course, upstream of Lake Vidraru, is also called ''Capra''. Name The river is believed to be the same as Ὀρδησσός ''Ordessus'', a name mentioned by Ancient Greek historian Herodotus. The etymology of Argeș is not clear.
