Bostancı Show Center
The Bostancı Show Center () is a convention center located on the Mehmet Şevki Paşa Road in Bostancı, Kadıköy, opened in 1991. It hosts many events and concerts. History The first series of events taking place at the Bostancı Show Center following its opening on 23 April 1991 were a number of concerts between 25-28 April 1991 by Sezen Aksu, who was accompanied by artists such as Sertab Erener, Levent Yüksel, Onno Tunç, Garo Mafyan, Orhan Topçuoğlu, Cengiz Teoman and Aykut Gürel. Mirkelam performed for the first time in a song contest organized by Show TV on 25 June 1995 at the Bostancı Show Center. Two of Led Zeppelin members, vocalist Robert Plant and guitarist Jimmy Page, gave their first Istanbul concerts on 5-6 March 1998 at the Bostancı Show Center. Bostancı
Bostancı () is a neighborhood in the municipality and district of Kadıköy, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Description Bostancı is on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, on the shore of the Sea of Marmara. As the easternmost neighborhood of the Kadıköy district; it borders Suadiye, Kadıköy, Suadiye and Kozyatağı (also neighborhoods of Kadıköy) to the west, İçerenköy (a neighborhood of Ataşehir) to the north, and :tr:Altıntepe, Maltepe, Altıntepe (a neighborhood of Maltepe, Istanbul, Maltepe) to the east. Sabah (newspaper)
''Sabah'' is a Turkish daily newspaper, with a circulation of around 330,000 as of 2011. Its name means "morning" in Turkish language, Turkish. The newspaper was founded in İzmir by Dinç Bilgin on 22 April 1985. In 2007, the government of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan seized the newspaper, citing a legal document that had not been disclosed to authorities when ''Sabah'' was sold in 2001. Ownership of the newspaper was given to the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund of Turkey. Kamil Sönmez (4 March 1947 – 20 December 2012) was a Turkish folk singer and actor. He is best known for his folk songs from the Black Sea Region of Turkey. In 1998, he received the title of "state artist". ''Yeni Şafak'' ("New Dawn") is a conservative, Islamist Turkish daily newspaper. The newspaper is known for its hardline support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the AK Party and has a very close relationship with the Turkish government. Nuray Hafiftaş (2 November 1964 – 14 February 2018) was a Turkish folk musician, composer, folk poet, lyricist, music director, and bağlama virtuoso of Karapapakh ancestry and Azerbaijan Turkish origin. Neşet Ertaş (1938 – 25 September 2012) was a Turkish folk music singer, lyricist, modern ashik and virtuoso of the traditional Turkish instrument the bağlama. His profession in Turkish is known as ''halk ozanı'', which literally means "folk bard". Yaşar Kemal gave Ertaş his nickname, "Bozkırın Tezenesi" (literally: "Plectrum of the Steppe"), writing it in a book he gave him as a gift. Duman ( English: ''Smoke'') is a Turkish rock band. Founded in 1999, the band features Kaan Tangöze on vocals and guitar, Ari Barokas on bass guitar and backing vocals, Batuhan Mutlugil on lead guitar and backing vocals and Doğaç Titiz on drums. Robert Anthony Plant (born 20 August 1948) is an English singer and songwriter. He was the lead singer and lyricist of the rock band Led Zeppelin from its founding in 1968 until their breakup in 1980.
