Lashkargah
Lashkargāh (; ), historically called Bost or Boost (), is a city in southwestern Afghanistan and the capital of Helmand Province. It is located in Lashkargah District, where the Arghandab River merges into the Helmand River. The city has a population of 201,546 as of 2006. Lashkargah is linked by major roads with Kandahar to the east, Zaranj on the border with Iran to the west, and Farah and Herat to the north-west. It is mostly very arid and desolate. However, farming does exist around the Helmand and Arghandab rivers. Bost Airport is located on the east bank of the Helmand River, five miles north of the junction of the Helmand and Arghandab rivers. Because of the trading hubs, it is Afghanistan's second largest city in size, after Kabul and before Kandahar. Josiane Bost (born 7 April 1956, in Tournus, France) is a former French racing cyclist who was world road champion in 1977. She twice won the National Pursuit Championship and once the National Sprint Championship. Biography Josiane Bost was one of the best female racing cyclists in France in the 1970s. She won the world championship in 1977 and three national championships on the track, including the unusual combination of pursuit and sprint titles. She and Geneviève Gambillon, her main rival, bridged the gap in French cycling between Lily Herse and Jeannie Longo. Bost came second three times in the national road championship, beaten each time by Gambillon. She was French pursuit champion in 1977 and 1978 and sprint champion in 1978. Bost Building
The Bost Building, also known as Columbia Hotel, is located on East Eighth Avenue ( PA 837) in Homestead, Pennsylvania, United States. Built just before the 1892 Homestead Strike, it was used as headquarters by the Amalgamated Association of Iron and Steel Workers and for reporters covering the confrontation. It is the only significant building associated with the strike that remains intact. It is a contributing property to the Homestead Historic District. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1999. After some use as a rooming house and hotel, today it serves as the headquarters and visitor center for the Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area. Bost's Bread was a brand of baked bread distributed in the Western Carolinas, Virginia and Tennessee. Bakers in the eastern parts of the Carolinas and Virginia put out a similar product called Bunny Bread, made with nearly the same recipe. At its height, the Bost's Bakery employed around 2,000 people in and around Shelby, North Carolina. The products of the company became widely known in part due to the advertising antics of Arthur Smith and his Crackerjacks, whose television shows Bost's Bread sponsored on WBTV in Charlotte. Slogans like "If it's Fresher'n Bost's it's Still in the Oven", "The Best Taste You Ever Toasted", and "Baked Slow to Sell Fast" became bywords and embedded into the cultural slang-speak of the area where Bost's Bread was sold. Bost Motorsports
Bost Motorsports is a former NASCAR Busch Series team. It was owned by Danny Bost and driven by a variety of drivers. Danny Bost decided to enter in decided to enter NASCAR in 2002, becoming co-owner of the Busch Series team called PF2 Motorsports (owned by Fred Bickford and his wife Pamela, hence the team's name: P for Pamela, F for Fred). With Bost joining the team, the team was renamed DF2 Motorsports (with Danny's D replacing the P) and this was the team's name in the 2002 season. The team used derivatives of the number 498 (in a tribute to the car that Fred Bickford used when he was a driver). At the end of the season, Bickford left the team (and later recreated the PF2 Motorsports). Michael Joseph Bost ( ; born December 30, 1960) is an American politician. A member of the Republican Party (United States), Republican Party, he has served as the U.S. representative for Illinois's 12th congressional district since 2015. From 1995 to 2015, Bost was a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 115th district. Before holding elected office, he was a firefighter. Boost Defenders ( ''Bōst Sātūnkī'') or Boost Region is one of eight regional first-class cricket teams in Afghanistan.
