Willem Boshoff (born 1951, Johannesburg, South Africa) is one of South Africa's foremost contemporary artists and regularly exhibits nationally and internationally. Boshoff spent his childhood in Vanderbijlpark, which is a town located next to the Vaal River, located approximately seventy five kilometers south of Johannesburg. His father, Martiens, was a carpenter which allowed him to develop a love for working with wood. This had a large influence on his current technical expertise. Boshoff is known primarily for his conceptual installations. Carel Boshoff
Carel Willem Hendrik Boshoff (9 November 1927 – 16 March 2011) was a South African professor of theology and Afrikaner white nationalist. Biography Boshoff was born in Nylstroom in the Transvaal Province as the second child of Willem Sterrenberg Boshoff and Anna Maria "Annie" Boshoff. Boshoff's mother, Anna, was the second wife of his father; together they had seven children in addition to the six from his father's first marriage. Boshoff spent much of his youth at his father's ranch in the Waterberg District in the northern Transvaal, attended the University of Pretoria and attained his doctorate in theology in 1951 after doing missionary work throughout the old Transvaal Province. He spoke the Sepedi (Northern Sotho) language fluently and served as Secretary of Missions for the Dutch Reformed Church. Delina Ann Boshoff-Mortlock, commonly known as Linky Boshoff (born 12 November 1956), is a South African former professional tennis player. She won the 1976 US Open women's doubles title with her partner Ilana Kloss. Tennis career In 1973 Boshoff won the South African Open doubles title with Ilana Kloss after a victory in the final against Chris Evert and Virginia Wade. In 1977, she won the singles title, defeating Brigitte Cuypers in the final in straight sets. In December 1975, Boshoff was the first selection in the 1976 World Team Tennis Draft by the San Diego Friars; however, she didn't sign with the team. In 1976, she won several doubles titles with Kloss, including the German Open, Italian Open and U.S. Clay Court Championships and reached the world No. 1 ranking in doubles. Lieutenant General Gert Johannes Jacobus Boshoff (28 April 193122 October 2014) was a South African Army general. He attended school at Barberton High School in the Eastern Transvaal but left at the age of 15 before joining the Post Office, later completing his Matric at the Pretoria Technical College in 1948 through evening classes. In 1950 he started working for the City Council of Pretoria, and also joined the Citizen Force where he became part of 6 Signal Squadron. Jacobus Nicolaas Boshof (31 January 1808 – 21 April 1881) was a South African (Boer) statesman, a late-arriving member of the Voortrekker movement, and the second state president of the Orange Free State, in office from 1855 to 1859.
