It was elevated from town to city status on 12 June 2009. The municipal holiday is Easter Monday. The Comunidade Intermunicipal do Alentejo Central (; "Intermunicipal communities of Portugal, Intermunicipal Community of Central Alentejo") is an administrative division in Portugal. It was created in 2009. The seat of the intermunicipal community is Évora, the main city. Other cities are Estremoz, Montemor-o-Novo, Vendas Novas and Reguengos de Monsaraz. Parishes
A parish is a territorial entity in many Christian denominations, constituting a division within a diocese. A parish is under the pastoral care and clerical jurisdiction of a priest, often termed a parish priest, who might be assisted by one or more curates, and who operates from a parish church. Historically, a parish often covered the same geographical area as a manor. Its association with the parish church remains paramount. VÃtor Norte (born 29 January 1951) is a Portuguese actor. He won the Portuguese Golden Globe award for best actor three times. LuÃs Miguel Bilro Pereira (born 1 April 1971), known as Bilro, is a Portuguese retired football and beach soccer player. While playing association football, in a career that lasted over a decade, he operated as right-back or central defender, having represented União de Leiria for 11 professional seasons.
