Bonne Nuit Ma Chérie
Germany was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1960 with the song "", composed by Franz Josef Breuer, with lyrics by Kurt Schwabach, and performed by Wyn Hoop. The German participating broadcaster on behalf of ARD, (HR), selected its entry through a national final. The song was sung in German despite its French title. Heidi Brühl finished runner-up in the national final; however her song "" topped the German singles chart for several weeks and was one of the year's biggest sellers. Before Eurovision National final The national final was held on 6 February at the Rhein-Main-Halle in Wiesbaden, hosted by Hilde Nocker and Werner Fullerer. Ten songs took part, with the winner being decided by a 45-member jury made up of 15 "experts" and 30 members of the public. ARD (broadcaster)
ARD is a joint organisation of Germany's regional Public broadcasting, public-service broadcasters. It was founded in 1950 in West Germany to represent the common interests of the new, decentralised, post-war broadcasting services—in particular the introduction of a joint television network. ARD has a budget of €6.9 billion, 22,612 employees and is the largest public broadcaster network in the world. The budget comes primarily from a mandatory licence fee which every household, company and public institution, regardless of television ownership, is required by law to pay. (; "Hesse Broadcasting"), shortened to HR (; stylized as hr), is the German state of Hesse's public broadcasting corporation. Headquartered in Frankfurt, it is a member of the national consortium of German public broadcasting corporations, ARD. Wyn Hoop
Wyn Hoop (born 29 May 1936) is a German singer, birth name Winfried Lüssenhop, best known for his participation in the 1960 Eurovision Song Contest. Born in Hannover, in the early 1950s, Hoop formed a jazz band called the Capitellos, who toured and worked on radio before disbanding in 1958. Hoop started to make solo recordings, at first under the name Fred Lyssen, before settling on the professional name Wyn Hoop. In 1960, Hoop took part in the German Eurovision selection final, and his song " Bonne nuit ma chérie" was chosen to go forward to the fifth Eurovision Song Contest, held in London on 29 March. At the contest "Bonne nuit ma chérie" (which, despite its title, was sung in German) finished in joint fourth place of the 13 entries. The Eurovision Song Contest 1960 was the fifth edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held on Tuesday 29 March 1960 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, United Kingdom, and hosted by British television presenter and actress Catherine Boyle. Heidi Brühl
Heidi Rosemarie Brühl (; 30 January 1942 – 8 June 1991) was a German singer and actress who came to prominence as a young teenager and had a prolific career in film and television. She was also a successful recording artist, and is known for her participation in the 1963 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career Brühl's first screen appearance was in the 1954 film ''Der letzte Sommer'' with Liselotte Pulver, but in the role of Dalli, in what became known as the "Immenhof films", she became famous in Germany.
