Boko, Kamrup
Boko is a town located in Assam, in the Kamrup district in the Indian state of Assam. The town is composed of 139 villages. It is approximately 60 kilometers west of Guwahati. Culture Boko's cultural tradition is known mainly for the Bogai festival, which began in honor of a King Bogai who ruled the area. People visit Boko during this event, because it is the only one of its kind in the region and is the biggest festival held in the South Kamrup area. Boko is also home to the Suwori (সুঁৱৰি) festival, which has been celebrated in the town for almost a century. This festival is similar to Assam's Bihu, which is celebrated with great fervor and joy by all the indigenous Assamese communities irrespective of caste, creed, religion, faith or belief. Asom Gana Parishad
Asom Gana Parishad (translation: ''Assam People's Council'', AGP) is a political party in the state of Assam, India. The AGP was formed following the historic Assam Accord of 1985 and formally launched at the Golaghat Convention held from 13 to 14 October 1985 in Golaghat, which also allowed Prafulla Kumar Mahanta who was the youngest chief minister of the state to be elected. The AGP has formed government twice once in 1985 then again in 1996. The popularity of AGP surged in the late 1980s but declined in the 2000s. After a 20-year gap, AGP, in alliance with National Democratic Alliance (India), NDA, won a Lok Sabha seat in 2024. The All India United Democratic Front (also known as AIUDF and ''Sarva Bharatiya Sanyukt Ganatantric Morcha'') is a political party active in the Indian state of Assam. It is the 3rd largest political party in Assam Legislative Assembly after BJP and INC. The party was founded by Maulana Badruddin Ajmal on 3 October 2005 and at that time, its name was Assam United Democratic Front (AUDF).
