Bojan Vučković (footballer)
Bojan "Bo" Vučković ( sr-Cyrl, Бојан Вучковић; born July 17, 1970) is a Serbian footballer, who owned and played for the now defunct Vermont Voltage in the USL Premier Development League. Career Youth and college Vučković grew up in Belgrade, joining FK Partizan as a youth player in 1984. With the onset of unrest in Yugoslavia in the early 1990s, Vučković elected to attend college in the United States and in 1991 entered Franklin Pierce College, playing with the school's Division II NCAA soccer team. He was a 1993 and 1994 second team All-American and finished his four years with the school record in goals (99) and points (246). Professional Following college, Vučković remained in the United States and signed with the Arizona Sandsharks of the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL) where he finished runner up to Mark Chung in the Rookie of the Year voting. Joel Shanker
Joel Shanker (born August 14, 1971) is a retired American soccer forward who spent his entire professional career in the U.S. indoor leagues. He was a three time MISL All Star and was a member of the U.S. national futsal team at the 2004 FIFA Futsal World Championship. Youth Shanker grew up in St. Louis where he played soccer at Parkway Central High School. He graduated in 1990. He then attended Indiana University where he played on the men's soccer team from 1991 to 1994. In 1994, the Hoosiers went to the NCAA championship game where they lost to the University of Virginia. Professional In 1995, Shanker signed with the Detroit Neon in the Continental Indoor Soccer League. He remained with the Neon through the 1995 season. The United States Interregional Soccer League (USISL) was a semi-professional men's outdoor soccer league that played six seasons from 1989 to 1994. It was the first outdoor league to be operated by the organization known today as the United Soccer League. Mark Chung (born June 18, 1970) is a former professional Association football, soccer player who played ten seasons in Major League Soccer. Born in Canada, he earned twenty-four cap (sports), caps, scoring two goals, with the United States men's national soccer team, US national team. Youth Chung was born in Toronto to Hakka people, Hakka Chinese Jamaicans, Chinese Jamaican parents. His family moved from Toronto to Pembroke Pines, Florida, when Chung was twelve. The Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL) was a professional indoor soccer league that played from 1993 to 1997. History In the summer of 1989 Dr Jerry Buss, the owner of the Los Angeles Lakers and California Sports, told his executive Vice President, Ron Weinstein, he was closing the doors on the Los Angeles Lazers of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) and that if he ever wanted to "create a professional indoor soccer league that played in the summer months, out from under the shadow of the NBA, NFL, NHL, NCAA Football and NCAA Basketball", he would support the endeavor.
