Bohuš Čížek
Bohuš Čížek (born Bohumil Čížek, alternatively known as Bohouš Čížek; 11 February 1913 – 19 September 1989) was a Czech painter, draughtsman, graphic artist, illustrator and lecturer. Life Bohuš Čížek was born into a family of farmer Bohumil Čížek and Marie Čížková, née Bláhová as their second son. At the estate farm he spent his childhood, acquiring first life sensations, developing imagination and drawing inspiration (among others through an illustrations by Adolf Kašpar, from a favourite book '' The Grandmother'', in Czech: ''Babička''). In the years 1924–1933 he was attending a real school in Prostějov, where he was already drawing and painting a lot. Some of his schoolworks have been preserved. He applied himself to figurative art, ordinary things that surrounded him, and to landscape painting. He graduated by passing the upper secondary school examination in 1933. Alois Kalvoda
Alois Kalvoda (15 May 1875 – 25 June 1934), was a Czech landscape painter. Biography Kalvoda was born in Šlapanice near Brno, the eighth of ten children. He attended the gymnasium in Brno and then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague for five years, 1892–97, with Julius Mařák. In 1900 a scholarship allowed him to study in Paris, from where he moved to Munich in 1901. His time in Munich is credited with broadening his experience of contemporary trends. He first exhibited in Prague in 1901, and in 1902 exhibited at the Mánes Union of Fine Arts. He opened an art school in Prague in 1900, where his students included Josef Váchal. He moved this school in 1917 to a castle he had purchased in Běhařov. In 1907, he was one of the founding members of the Association of Moravian Artists. Haná or Hanakia ( or ''Hanácko'', or ''Hanakei'') is an ethnographic region in central Moravia in the Czech Republic. Etymology The region was named after the Haná (river), Haná River. František Ženíšek
František Ženíšek (25 May 1849 – 15 November 1916) was a Czech painter. He was part of the "" (Generation of the National Theater), a large group of artists with nationalistic sympathies. Early life Ženíšek was born in Prague into a family of merchants and displayed an affinity for art at an early age. His father nervously agreed to let him pursue his interests and allowed him to take lessons from Karel Javůrek whilst he was still in school. From 1863 to 1865, he was at the Academy of Fine Arts, studying with Eduard von Engerth. After a brief stay in Vienna, assisting Engerth with work at the State Opera, he was back at the Academy in Prague, working with Jan Swerts and the history painter Josef Matyáš Trenkwald. Vlaho Bukovac
Vlaho Bukovac (; ; 4 July 1855 – 23 April 1922) was a Croatian painting, painter and academic. His life and work were eclecticism, eclectic, for the artist pursued his career in a variety of locales and his style changed greatly over the course of that career.
