Blonay () is a former municipality in the district of Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. On 1 January 2022 the former municipalities of Blonay and Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz merged into the new municipality of Blonay - Saint-Légier. History Blonay is first mentioned in 861 as ''Blodennaco''. In 1108 it was mentioned as ''Bloniaco''. During the 13th Century it was known as ''Blonay'', ''Blonai'' and ''Blunai''. The Swiss People's Party (, SVP; , PPS), also known as the Democratic Union of the Centre (, UDC; , UDC), is a national-conservative and right-wing populist political party in Switzerland. Chaired by Marcel Dettling, it is the largest party in the Federal Assembly, with 62 members of the National Council and 6 of the Council of States. Elections to the Swiss Federal Assembly, the federal parliament of Switzerland, were held on Sunday, 21 October 2007. Blonay Castle
Blonay Castle is a castle in the Municipalities of Switzerland, municipality of Blonay of the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland. It is a Swiss Swiss inventory of cultural property of national and regional significance, heritage site of national significance. History The castle was built in 1175, by :fr:Guillaume de Blonay, William II of Blonay (died 1197), a ministerialis in Savoy, on the site of a fortified structure that dated from 1095. It has served as the Blonay family seat since that time, aside from a brief interruption in the 18th century.
