Blaricum
Blaricum () is a municipality and village in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands. It is part of the region of Gooiland and part of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (Metropoolregio Amsterdam). It is known for its many monumental farm buildings, local cafes and restaurants, nature, several annual community events, and extensive up-market residential areas. According to statistics published by the Dutch land registry office in February 2011, Blaricum is the most expensive location to purchase a house in the Netherlands. The average home in Blaricum costs €800,000 and had risen an average of 12% from the previous year. Gooiland
The Gooi ( ) is an area around Hilversum, in the centre of the Netherlands. It is a slightly hilly area characterised by its green landscape, its historical charm, the wealth of its inhabitants and its villas. Merel Bechtold
Merel Bechtold (born February 27, 1992) is a Dutch guitarist. She was born in Blaricum. She started playing guitar in 2007 at the age of fifteen. Half a year later she founded the band Purest of Pain, in which she played lead guitar until its disbandment in 2018. In 2013, she released the single "Momentum" and in 2014 she starred at the large metal festival Wacken Open Air. Musical acts At the end of 2012, Bechtold performed her first performance with Delain. In 2013, for the first time, she filled in for Timo Somers, Delain's main guitarist. During the same period, she performed several concerts with Purest of Pain. In October 2014, she was contacted by Isaac Delahaye (Epica, ex-MaYaN) who had to leave MaYaN for other priorities. Meau
__NOTOC__ Meau Hewitt (born 10 May 2000), known mononymously as Meau (stylised in all caps), is a Dutch singer-songwriter from Weesp, North Holland. Her 2022 song was a number-one hit in the Netherlands. Early life Meau Hewitt was born in Blaricum and grew up in Weesp. Her mother's family comes from Suriname and her ancestors on that side of the family were slaves on a plantation. Her Surinamese grandfather was also a musician, and played in the band Sonora Paranamera. When she was eight years old, Meau performed in Kinderen voor Kinderen, a well known children's choir, from 2008 to 2011. North Holland
North Holland (, ) is a Provinces of the Netherlands, province of the Netherlands in the northwestern part of the country. Dick Bakker
Dick Bakker (born 23 May 1947) is a Dutch composer, conductor and music producer. He succeeded Rogier van Otterloo as conductor of the Metropole Orkest, serving between 1991 and 2005. Bakker composed the winning Eurovision Song Contest entry of 1975 for Teach-In. He has remained an associate with the Eurovision Song Contest and the Nationaal Songfestival, composing the Dutch entry for the 1982 Event sung by Bill van Dijk. In the Netherlands, the municipal council ( ) is the elected assembly of a municipality. Its main role is laying down the guidelines for the policy of the municipal executive and exercising control over its execution by the mayor and aldermen.
