Amy Ella Blanchard (June 28, 1854 – July 4, 1926) was a prolific American writer of children's literature. Early life Amy Ella Blanchard was born in Baltimore in 1854, the daughter of Daniel Harris Blanchard and Sarah Reynolds. Albert Gallatin Blanchard (September 6, 1810 – June 21, 1891) was a general in the Confederate army during the American Civil War. He was among the small number of high-ranking Confederates to have been born in the North.
