Bjørnøya, Haram
Bjørnøya () is a populated island in Haram Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It lies in the Vigrafjorden, between the island of Vigra to the west and the Norwegian mainland to the east. It is connected to the Norwegian mainland through a man-made causeway. The nearest larger village on the mainland is Søvik. To the east of the Bjørnøya (between Bjørnøya and Søvik) lies the island of Terøya. The two islands are separated by the Bjørnøysundet strait. The island was part of the old Borgund Municipality until 1965 when it joined Haram Municipality. In 2020, it became part of Ålesund Municipality. Then in 2024, it became part of Haram Municipality once again. There are several hamlets on the island, the notable ones among them are Bjørnøya and Fagerheim. Vigrafjorden
The Vigrafjorden is a fjord located in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The fjord forms the border between Haram Municipality and Giske Municipality. It is located east of the island of Vigra, after which it is named (in Giske Municipality) and southwest of the island of Lepsøya (in Haram Municipality). In the west, the fjord stretches from the Norwegian Sea about to the small islands of Kalvøya and Bjørnøya in the southeast. At its deepest, the fjord reaches below sea level. Vigra (island)
Vigra is an island in Giske Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island is located north of the islands of Valderøya and Giske, west of the mainland of Haram Municipality, and southwest of the island of Lepsøya (in Haram). Vigra has a road connection to the mainland via the Vigra Fixed Link, a series of tunnels and bridges that connect all the islands of Giske Municipality to the city of Ålesund to the south. The island was formerly part of Vigra Municipality. The island is fairly flat and barren, although most land has been converted to agricultural uses. The highest point is the tall Molnesfjellet on the north end of the island. Terøya is a small, populated island in Haram Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The population of Terøya (about 200-300 people) is concentrated on the southern and eastern parts of the island. Terøya is connected to the village of Søvik on the mainland by a causeway on the east side. The island of Bjørnøya lies to the west of the island. Borgund is a List of former municipalities of Norway, former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1968.
