Bjørnar Valstad
Bjørnar Valstad (born 27 April 1967) is a Norwegian former orienteering athlete who has won 4 World Orienteering Championships gold medals. Valstad ran for the Norwegian club Bækkelagets SK in Oslo. He previously represented Nydalens SK, NTHI and IL Stjørdals-Blink. From 2007 to 2014 he was the secretary-general of the Norges Orienteringsforbund. He retired from international orienteering at the end of the 2004 season where he became world champion in both the long and relay events, despite this he failed to make the Orienteering World Cup final round in Germany. Valstad won the Jukola relay in 1995. 1999 and 2002. He is married to former orienteering athlete Hanne Staff. They are living in Nittedal Municipality with their two daughters born 2006 and 2009. Nydalens SK
Nydalens Skiklub is a Norwegian sports club from Nydalen, Oslo. It was founded in , and has sections for orienteering, Nordic skiing and ski orienteering. The club organized national ski jumping competitions regularly from 1891 to 1953, and had its own ski jumping venue at Korsvoll. In orienteering, the club won national championships in relay in 1954 (men), 1968 (women), 1996, 1997 and 1999 (men), and 2000 and 2005 (women). Hanne Staff (born 3 February 1972) is a Norwegian orienteering competitor who has won three individual World Orienteering Championships gold medals. She retired from international orienteering at the end of the 2004 season where she became world champion in the middle distance event. Orienteering World Cup
The Orienteering World Cup is a series of orienteering competitions organized annually by the International Orienteering Federation. Two unofficial cups were organized in 1983 and 1984. The official World Cup was held first in 1986, and then every second year up to 2004. From 2004 the World Cup has been held annually. Norges Orienteringsforbund
The Norwegian Orienteering Federation (, NOF) is the national Orienteering Association in Norway. It is recognized as the orienteering association for Norway by the International Orienteering Federation, of which it is a member. The association was founded 1 October 1945, and is a member of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports (NIF). Its first chairman was Kaare Thuesen. In 1946 NOF had 204 associated clubs, with just above 7,000 members. The number of clubs and associated members increased gradually through the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, and peaked in 1984 with 630 clubs and 34,000 members, and 35,000 members and 620 clubs in 1985. The next twenty years saw a decline in the number of clubs and members. Idrettslaget Stjørdals-Blink is a Norwegian sports club from Stjørdalshalsen, Trøndelag. It has sections for association football, team handball, volleyball, track and field, orienteering, cycling, swimming, gymnastics, speed skating, and Nordic skiing. Oslo
