Björn Lövin
Björn Lövin (17 December 1937 – 6 March 2009) was a Swedish painter, sculptor and installation artist. During his lifetime he had solo exhibitions at Moderna Museet, Göteborgs Konsthall, Liljevalchs konsthall, Kulturhuset and in Paris at the Centre Pompidou. Falun
Falun () is a city and the seat of Falun Municipality in Dalarna County, Sweden, with 37,291 inhabitants in 2010. It is also the capital of Dalarna County. Falun forms, together with Borlänge, a metropolitan area with just over 100,000 inhabitants. Falun was originally famous for its copper mine, and is today an important service and industrial city even though the mine is closed (since 1992). Faluån is a river, flowing through the city, separating it into two sides. Falu copper mine is located on one of the sides which during many centuries was one of Sweden's main business. This side of the river was usually called "the mining side", where not many plants grew due to the toxic smoke which contaminated the soil. On the other side of the river, where the smoke did not reach, set many large villas, which made this side to be called "the delightful side". ''Lenin Monument April 13th 1917'' is a 1977 public art installation by Swedish artist Björn Lövin. It is part of the outdoor collection of Moderna Museet in Stockholm and is located on Skeppsholmen near the museum's main entrance. The artist made the installation based on a 1917 Axel Malmström photograph of Vladimir Lenin and entourage leaving the Stockholm Central Station on foot. The installation was first exhibited in 1977 at Kulturhuset, Stockholm, as part of Lövin's exhibition ''Minnet sviker'' (Failed Memory), and was purchased by Moderna Museet the same year. The work recreates a cobblestone street section in which the title character is absent and only represented by a cross-mark. Liljevalchs Konsthall
Liljevalchs konsthall () is a kunsthalle art venue located on Djurgården island in Stockholm, Sweden. Designed by architect Carl Bergsten (1879–1935) and inaugurated in March 1916, it is today owned by the City of Stockholm. Behind the entrance on the north-western corner is a small vestibule. To the right of the latter is a large sculpture hall leading to two large galleries with skylights intended for paintings, flanked by series of smaller exhibition spaces. The eastern end of the building has a large-scale portico facing a small park surrounded by the large windows of a small restaurant. House of Culture (Swedish: Kulturhuset) is a cultural center situated to the south of Sergels torg in central Stockholm, Sweden. The House of Culture has been described as a symbol for Stockholm as well as of the growth of modernism in Sweden. The Centre Pompidou (), more fully the (), also known as the Pompidou Centre in English and colloquially as Beaubourg, is a building complex in Paris, France.
