Björn Andersson (speedway Rider)
Bjorn Mikael Andersson (born 3 November 1962) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden. He earned 10 caps for the Sweden national speedway team. Career Andersson made his debut in the British leagues in 1981, when he joined the Swindon Robins for the 1981 British League season. In 1982, he represented Sweden during the 1982 Speedway World Team Cup. The following year in 1983, he made another World Cup appearance at the 1983 Speedway World Team Cup, in addition to winning the bronze medal at the Swedish Individual Speedway Championship. Alingsås
Alingsås () is a urban areas of Sweden, locality and the seat of Alingsås Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 24,482 inhabitants in 2010. Geography Geographically the city is situated by the outlet of the small rivulet Säveån into lake Mjörn (lake), Mjörn. The 1984 Swedish speedway season was the 1984 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1984 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 8 September in Karlstad. Jan Andersson won the Swedish Championship for the fourth time. Swedish U21 Championship Winner - Jimmy Nilsen Team Team Championship Kaparna won the Elitserien were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship after a play off win over Njudungarna. Pierre Bertil Brannefors (1962-2019) was a Swedish international speedway rider. He earned 14 international caps for the Sweden national speedway team. Speedway career Brannefors reached the final of the Speedway World Pairs Championship in the 1983 Speedway World Pairs Championship. He rode in the top tier of British Speedway from 1981 with the King's Lynn Stars to 1984, riding for Reading Racers. He was also the 1980 Swedish Junior Champion. Jan Hakan Andersson (born 7 May 1955) is a Swedish former speedway rider. He earned 39 caps for the Sweden national speedway team. Speedway career Andersson was a leading speedway rider during the 1980s reaching six Speedway World Championship finals in 1978, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1984 and 1985. He was the Swedish champion on four occasions (1979, 1980, 1981 and 1984) and Nordic Champion in 1979. He rode in the top tier of British Speedway riding for the Swindon Robins from 1975 until 1978. He left Swindon to join Reading because his international commitments would have meant missing some of Swindon's Saturday night fixtures. Andersson rode for Reading Racers from 1979 until 1992 and is regarded as a club legend. Kaparna were a Swedish motorcycle speedway team that competed in the Swedish speedway leagues from 1949 to 2007. The team were last based at the Arendal Speedway Track, in Arendal, west of Gothenburg on the island of at Hisingen in Sweden. They were four times Swedish Speedway Team Championship, league champions of Sweden. Season summary History 1934 to 1957 A speedway track called the Sävedalsbanan was constructed to the east of Gothenburg in 1934. Before World War II it held meetings consisting of individual competition.
