Björg Hafsteinsdóttir
Björg Hafsteinsdóttir (born 22 October 1969) is an Icelandic former basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic national basketball team. She played 12 seasons in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, winning the Icelandic championship seven times and the Icelandic Basketball Cup eight times. In 2001 she was named one of the twelve players of the Icelandic basketball team of the 20th century by the Icelandic Basketball Federation. She was a six time Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First Team selection and was named the league's Player of the Year in 1990. She spent the vast majority of her career with Keflavík, outside of a few months in the fall of 1992 when she played for KR. Bjørg Lødøen
Bjørg Lødøen (7 December 1931 – 5 March 2009) was a Norwegian painter, graphic artist, and composer. Biography Lødøen was born in Oslo, Norway. In 1945, by way of her father she came to know the painter Xan Krohn. Krohn had been taking part in the Russian avant-garde movement from about 1910 until he returned to Norway some time after 1917. Krohn was affiliated with a group of artists, Jack of Diamonds, that included Kazimir Malevich, Mikhail Larionov and Natalia Goncharova. From 1951 until 1954 Lødøen was studying at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in Oslo, from 1957 until 1961 at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts, with the professor Alexander Schultz. Björg Carítas Þorláksson
Björg Carítas Þorláksson (also cited as Bjorg Caritas Thorlaksson; 30 January 1874 – 25 February 1934) was an Icelandic scholar and teacher. After earning her teaching certificate in Ytriey she taught for three years and studied in Denmark, before applying to the Reykjavík Junior College to further her education. Refused admittance, she moved back to Copenhagen and earned a Danish teaching degree. She studied at the Athens Classes to learn Greek and Latin and was admitted to graduate study at the University of Copenhagen. After her marriage, she abandoned her studies to work on the preparation of an Icelandic-Danish Dictionary, for the next two decades with her husband. When the dictionary was completed, his work was recognized and hers was not. Divorcing, she moved to Paris and attained a PhD, the first woman in Iceland to attain the distinction. Hildur Björg Kjartansdóttir (born 18 November 1994) is an Icelandic former basketball player. She was named the Icelandic Women's Basketball Player of the Year twice, in 2017 and 2018, and was a four time selection to the Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First Team. During her career, she won the Icelandic championship three times and the Icelandic Cup once. Þóra Björg Helgadóttir (born 5 May 1981), commonly Anglicised as Thora Helgadottir, is an Icelandic former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Trained at university level in the United States, she formerly played for four seasons with Duke University's women's soccer team. She most recently played for Damallsvenskan club Malmö (FC Rosengård) and had previously represented clubs in Iceland, Belgium, Norway and Australia.
