Birmingham Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania
Birmingham Township is a township in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The population was 4,085 at the 2020 census. History Birmingham Township was the site of the Battle of Brandywine, September 11, 1777, during the American Revolutionary War. Over 18,000 men were engaged. It was, until that time, the largest land battle on the North American continent. Birmingham Friends Meeting, founded in 1690, is the location of a common grave of both American and British casualties. Much of the original battlefield around the meeting is preserved to this day. Birmingham is the oldest township in Chester County. The township was recently rated by ''Philadelphia'' magazine as one of the top five Best Places to Live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and as the "Place with the Biggest Paychecks". George Brinton House
The George Brinton House, also known as Wawassan and Roundelay, is an historic home which is located in Birmingham Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. History and architectural features Built circa 1830, the George Brinton House is a two-and-one-half-story, five-bay, double pile, late Federal-style fieldstone dwelling with a gable roof. Dilworthtown is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Chester and Delaware counties, Pennsylvania, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. The CDP is primarily in southeastern Chester County but extends south into western Delaware County. The Chester County part of the community is in Birmingham Township, while the Delaware County part is in Chadds Ford Township. Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania Chadds Ford is a census-designated place (CDP) in Delaware and Chester counties, Pennsylvania, United States, comprising the unincorporated communities of Chadds Ford and Chadds Ford Knoll. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. The CDP is in westernmost Delaware County and southeastern Chester County, in the northwest part of Chadds Ford Township, the east part of Pennsbury Township, and the south corner of Birmingham Township.
