Birkir Bjarnason
Birkir Bjarnason (born 27 May 1988) is an Icelandic professional association football, footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Italian club Brescia Calcio, Brescia and the Iceland national football team, Iceland national team, where he is the all-time leader in cap (sport), appearances. Club career Viking Birkir started playing football with local clubs in his hometown of Akureyri. His family moved to Norway in 1999 and he joined the youth teams of Figgjo IL, Figgjo. In the summer of 2005 Birkir joined Viking FK, Viking. In the 2006 season he scored his first goal for Viking against Hamarkameratene. Following that he played consistently as a starter for Viking and was a key aspect in helping the club avoid relegation that year and helping them obtain a third-place finish in 2007 under trainer Uwe Rösler. Birkir Hólm Guðnason (born 6 May 1974, Akureyri, Iceland) was the CEO of Icelandair, the flag carrier airline in Iceland, from 2008 to 2017. Life and career Birkir (see Icelandic name customs) is from Akureyri in northern Iceland. He finished a bachelor of science degree in Economics and Business Administration in 1998 from Aalborg University, Denmark. Two years later he finished his MBA in International Business and Economics from the same university. Birkir worked for Icelandair since graduating. He started as Sales Manager in Iceland, then had the same job for North America. He moved back to Europe when he became General Manager for Central Europe, stationed in Frankfurt. Birkir Kristinsson (born 15 August 1964) is an Icelandic former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career He started his career with local Vestmannaeyjar team ÍBV, and also played with Einherji from Vopnafjordur, KA from Akureyri, ÍA and Fram in the Icelandic league before moving to Norway with SK Brann in 1996, where he is still considered as a hero, after his efforts in the cup winner's cup in 1997, where SK Brann reached the quarter-finals. He moved to English club Birmingham City and after failing to make an impression there, he moved on to spells with Swedish side IFK Norrköping, Bolton Wanderers and Austrian club Lustenau before making a return to ÍBV. Birkir Már Sævarsson (born 11 November 1984) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a defender for Nacka. Club career Valur Birkir started his professional career with local team Valur in the Úrvalsdeild, where he made his senior debut in 2003. He went on to play 66 competitive league games for the club, scoring twice, across five seasons. He won the 2007 Úrvalsdeild with Valur.
