Birds of Prey is a Southern-influenced death metal supergroup hailing from Richmond, Virginia. They released their third full-length, ''The Hellpreacher'', through Relapse Records. History Birds of Prey was formed in 2005 as the side project to five very busy musicians who were all looking for additional creative outlets besides their own pre-existing projects. Composed of Ben Hogg from Beaten Back to Pure on vocals, Erik Larson from Alabama Thunderpussy and Bo Leslie from The Last Van Zant on guitars, Summer Welch from Baroness (band), Baroness handling bass duties and Dave Witte, from numerous bands including Municipal Waste, Burnt by the Sun and Discordance Axis on drums. In February 2025, the band released their tenth full-length album, ''Guides for the Misguided''. History Formation and ''Curves That Kick'' (1992–1994) 16 was formed in Santa Ana, California by Bobby Ferry (guitar), Cris Jerue (vocals), Ben Clark (bass) and Jason Corley (drums) in 1992. Incantation is an American death metal band formed by John McEntee and Paul Ledney in 1989. Despite the band's members currently residing in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Incantation are considered leaders in the New York City death metal scene along with Suffocation, Mortician and Immolation. Eyehategod
Eyehategod (also abbreviated and referred to as EHG) is an American sludge metal band from New Orleans, Louisiana, who formed in 1988. They have become one of the better known bands to emerge from the NOLA metal scene. Their core lineup has remained consistent since the band's inception, with the exception of the bassist (the role of which has been filled by several musicians over the years), until the death of drummer Joey LaCaze in 2013.
