Beáta Dubasová
Beáta Dubasová (born 14 May 1963) is a Slovak pop singer who had an impact on the domestic music scene in the second half of the 1980s. She scored a number of hits, becoming a teen idol and maintaining her popularity into the 1990s. As of 2023, she has released six studio albums, two children's albums, and two compilations. Life and career Beginnings Beáta Dubasová was inclined towards music as a child, which led her to perform in various singing competitions in elementary school. When she was fourteen, she began to sing with her brother's band at village entertainment performances. Dubasová moved to Prešov to attend high school, where she began singing solo. This is where she met up-and-coming singer Peter Nagy, who wrote several songs for her after he saw her performing. Stropkov
Stropkov (; , , , ) is a town in Stropkov District, Prešov Region, Slovakia. History The first written data about the town is from 1404, when Stropkov was already labeled as an ''oppidum'' (a townlet). The first owner of the town after the king was Ladislav Svatojursky. In order, the other landlords were Balickovci, Perinskovci, Peteovci. In 1408, the town's toll and castle (castellum) were mentioned for the first time. The development of the town and its economic expansion was supported by the law of thirty and market in 1698, which was strengthened by Leopold I with six annual fairs. Vašo Patejdl
Vašo Patejdl (born Václav Patejdl; 10 October 1954 – 19 August 2023) was a Slovak musician and composer. He was best known for being a co-founder and long-term member of the pop-rock band Elán (band), Elán. He wrote songs for other musicians, including the Richard Müller (singer), Richard Müller single "Po schodoch", and he composed music for films, such as ''Fontána pre Zuzanu'' (1985) and ''The Seven Ravens (2015 film), The Seven Ravens'' (2015). Patejdl also released a number of solo albums throughout his career, both in Slovak and English. He died on 19 August 2023, at the age of 68. The 100 Greatest Slovak Albums Of All Time
The 100 Greatest Slovak Albums of All Time is a list of the best album releases issued by Slovak recording artists. As the first such list presented in Slovakia, it was published by ''Nový čas'' daily on 22 September 2007. The list is entirely composed of Slovak, or else of formerly Czechoslovak artists, featuring all albums published in the country of origin from the 1960s onwards. Some of nominated full-length records could have been performed also in a different language (occasionally in English but partially). Ranking itself was based on votes received from twenty-five selected native-born musicians, critics and/or industry figures. Each of them voted ten most significant Slovak LPs from the past four decades in the country. Elán (band)
Elán is a Slovak pop rock band founded in 1968 by elementary school classmates Jozef Ráž, Jožo Ráž, Václav Patejdl, Vašo Patejdl, Juraj Farkaš, and Zdeno Baláž. They became one of the most popular Czechoslovakia, Czechoslovak bands during the 1980s, releasing ten successful albums between 1981 and 1991. In 1993, the group represented Slovakia in the preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest but having finished in fourth place, failed to qualify for the finals in Ireland. Elán performed at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec, Czech Republic, as part of the championship's entertainment festivities.
