Beth Tfiloh Congregation is a Modern Orthodox Judaism, Modern Orthodox congregation and synagogue located at 3300 Old Court Road, in Pikesville, Maryland, Pikesville, Maryland, in the United States. With approximately 3,500 members, and seating for 1,600 worshippers, Beth Tfiloh claims it is the largest Modern Orthodox congregation in the United States. History Beth Tfiloh Congregation was founded in Forest Park (Baltimore), Forest Park in 1921 with Rabbi Samuel Rosenblatt, son of hazzan, Cantor Jossele Rosenblatt, Yossele Rosenblatt, who served in that capacity until 1972 when he was named Rabbi Emeritus. From 1972 to 1977, David Novak served as Chief Rabbi. He was succeeded by Mitchell Wohlberg, who served as Chief Rabbi of Beth Tfiloh Congregation from 1978 to 2021. The ''Carroll County Times'' was founded on October 6, 1911, as ''The Times''. Owner and publisher George Mather, whose father owned the once-prominent Mather's Department Store in Westminster, Maryland, sold ''The Times'' in 1947. ''The Times'' expanded and became the ''Carroll County Times'' in 1956. The ''Carroll County Times'' changed hands several times over the next twenty years. Benjamin Louis Cardin (born October 5, 1943) is an American lawyer and former politician who served as a United States senator from Maryland from 2007 until 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the U.S. representative for from 1987 to 2007. Cardin served in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1967 to 1987 and as its speaker from 1979 to 1987. In 58 years as an elected official, Cardin never lost an election.
