Berrics
The Berrics is a private indoor skatepark owned by professional skateboarders Steve Berra and Eric Koston. It is also a website providing content filmed in the skatepark, as well other skateboard-related media. The facility's name is a portmanteau of the owners' names (the "Ber" of Berra's surname and the "ric" of Koston's first name). History Establishment: 2007–2011 In an interview with ''Pop'' magazine, Berra revealed that prior to the launch of The Berrics, he had been offered a million-dollar deal to direct a film based on a screenplay that he had written. Steve Berra
Steve Berra (born May 10, 1973) is an American professional skateboarder and director, and is also the cofounder/co-owner of the skateboarding website The Berrics. Early life Berra grew up in both Nebraska and Missouri and he explained in 2007 that his family was poor: "I was considered poor when I was growing up. I didn't have a phone." Berra was bullied at school for skateboarding and struggled as a student, with Berra stating that he "was the kid who everybody assumed was a complete lost cause." It was at the age of 14 years that the isolated Berra, who had a small number of friends at the time, decided that a professional skateboarding career was his aspiration. PJ Ladd
Patrick John Ladd (born January 11, 1983), professionally known as PJ Ladd, is an American professional skateboarder whose stance is ''regular''. Ladd was labelled an "east coast legend" by fellow professional skateboarder and team manager John Rattray in May 2013. Early life Ladd was born in Rockland, Massachusetts and grew up in Boston. Ladd revealed in a 2013 interview that skateboarding was a prominent aspect of his childhood in Boston: "I would skate my box and flatbar in the warehouse next to my father's auto parts store and then take the train into downtown to skate. Mike Mo Capaldi
Michael Capaldi (born March 27, 1990), popularly known as Mike Mo Capaldi, is a professional regular-footed skateboarder who gained popularity following his video part in ''Forecast'', a video produced by professional skateboarder Paul Rodriguez. Early life Capaldi originates from Simi Valley, California, and attended Royal High School. Capaldi explained in early 2013 that the "Mo" in his name is a nickname that was given to him by his father while he was a young boy. Eric Koston
Eric Koston (born April 29, 1975) is an American professional skateboarder and company owner. He has been featured in the '' Tony Hawk's'' video game series and the Electronic Arts (EA) video games ''Skate 2'' and ''Skate 3''. Koston co-owns both Fourstar Clothing (with Guy Mariano) and the skatepark/website "The Berrics" (with professional skateboarder Steve Berra). Donovan Strain (born November 22, 1985) is a stand-up comedian and skateboarder living in Los Angeles, California. Biography Skateboarding Strain started the skateboarding-based comedy segment titled "Buttery Ass Mondays" on The Berrics, where he was credited for inventing the skateboarding tricks Grape Flip, and Double Grape Flip. The series ran until 2010 when it was cancelled and removed from the archives. In October 2013, Strain's "Buttery Ass Mondays" returned to The Berrics' archive, suggesting new episodes of the series would be made for 2014. Jerry Hsu (born December 17, 1981) is a Taiwanese-American skateboarder, photographer and currently owner of clothing company "Sci-Fi Fantasy". As of October 2018, Hsu does not have pro status in skateboarding anymore and has no sponsors. Early life As of 2007, Hsu's family home remains located in San Jose, California, United States (U.S.). Torey Pudwill
Torey Jamieson Pudwill (born May 2, 1990), also known by his nickname "T-Puds", is an American professional street skateboarder. Early life Pudwill was born in Simi Valley, California, United States (US). In a February 2013 online interview, Pudwill explained that Justin Schulte (also a sponsored skateboarder as of March 2013) was the friend that he would mostly skateboard with during his early adolescence. Sean Malto (born September 9, 1989) is an American professional skateboarder. Early life Malto is from Lansing, Kansas. He is of Euro-American and Filipino descent. Malto started skateboarding at the age of 10 at the hands of the inspiration of his older brothers Travis, Justin and Chris . Erik Ellington
Erik Ellington (born August 9, 1977) is an American professional skateboarder, entrepreneur, and designer. Early life Erik Ellington was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, to Rose Ann Ellington and Charles Luther Ellington. His parents separated at an early age and he was raised collectively by his parents and step father Johnson Quarles. In his teens, he moved to Tempe, Arizona, after the passing of his father.
