Berkshire Black Bears
The Berkshire Black Bears were a minor league baseball team in the independent Northeast League. The Berkshire Black Bears were one of many historical teams to have played in Wahconah Park, starting with the Pittsfield Electrics (1913–14) and later, the Pittsfield Hillies (1919–30), the Pittsfield Electrics (1941–48), Pittsfield Indians (1949–50), and Pittsfield Phillies (1951). After a 14-year hiatus, Pittsfield gained the Pittsfield Red Sox (1965–69), Pittsfield Senators (1970–71), Pittsfield Rangers (1972–75) and Berkshire Brewers (1976). After another nine year hiatus, the Pittsfield Cubs (1985–88), Pittsfield Mets (1989–2000) and Pittsfield Astros (2001) came to be. Soon after, they became the Berkshire Black Bears in 2002. Darren James Bush (born January 18, 1974) is an American professional baseball former player and current coach. He is the bench coach for the Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). Bush has two kids, Wyatt and Maggie. Career Bush attended Dunedin High School in Dunedin, Florida, and Valdosta State University, where he played college baseball for the Valdosta State Blazers. James Michael Dedrick (born April 4, 1968) is an Americans, American former professional baseball player. A pitcher, Dedrick played for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball (MLB) in . Dedrick was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 33rd round of the 1990 Major League Baseball draft, 1990 MLB draft. He pitched in six games in 1995, striking out 3 and walking 6 guys in 7 and 2/3 innings. Dedrick attended Huntington Beach High School and later Vanguard University of Southern California, Southern California College. George Charles Scott Jr. (March 23, 1944 – July 28, 2013), nicknamed "Boomer", was an American professional baseball player, coach and manager. He played in Major League Baseball as a first baseman from to , most prominently for the Boston Red Sox where he was a member of the American League pennant winning team and, with the Milwaukee Brewers where he was the American League home run and RBI champion. A three-time All-Star player, Scott was one of the most accomplished defensive first basemen of his era, winning eight Gold Glove Awards between 1967 and 1976. Northeast League
The Northeast League was a professional independent baseball league that operated in the Northeastern United States from 1995 until 1998 and from 2003 until 2004. Allentown Ambassadors
The Allentown Ambassadors were an independent baseball team that competed in the Northeast League and the Northern League from 1997 until 2003. They played their home games at Bicentennial Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania. History In 1996, Allentown was granted a franchise in the Northeast League, replacing the Rhode Island Tiger Sharks. The team faced difficulties before their inaugural season even began; 16-year Major League veteran infielder Ken Oberkfell was named the team's first manager in the summer of 1996. On December 19, 1996, Oberkfell would leave to become the manager of the Piedmont Boll Weevils of the South Atlantic League.
