Berit Brænne
Berit Winge Brænne (18 September 1918 – 6 September 1976) was a Norwegian actress, children's writer and songwriter. Personal life She was born in Aker, Norway, Aker, a daughter of architect Sigmund Brænne and Bodil Winge, and sister of actress Randi Brænne. She was married to sculptor Hugo Frank Wathne from 1950 to 1951. She was a sister-in-law of actor Frank Robert (actor), Frank Robert. Career Brænne made her stage debut at the Oslo theatre ''Masken'' in 1938, and worked the next twelve years as actress at various theatres in Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger. From 1946 she contributed with songs and audio plays to the radio show ''Lørdagsbarnetimen'' (the Saturday children's hour) for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. From 1954 she contributed to the popular morning show ''Barnetimen for de minste''. Her first story here was ''Dukkemannen Tulleruskomsnusk''; this was later published as a book in 1961. Hugo Frank Wathne
Hugo Wathne (25 September 1932 – 6 September 2017) was a Norwegian sculptor and art instructor. Biography Hugo Frank Wathne was born in Stavanger, Norway to Frank Ingolf Wathne and Birgit Rosenvold. His father was a painter and glass artist. Wathne was first a student of sculptor Magnus Vigrestad. He attended the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry (''Statens Håndverks- og Kunstindustriskole'') in Oslo (1949–54) and the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts (''Statens Kunstakademi'') in Oslo under Per Palle Storm (1954–57) and Per Krohg (1957–58). He trained in Copenhagen under Gottfred Eickhoff (1959) and attended the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris (1965–66). Aker, Norway
Aker was a former independent municipality in Akershus, Norway, that constitutes the vast majority of the territory of the modern city of Oslo. The name originally belonged to a farm which was located near the current Old Aker Church. The church in turn became the source of the name of the parish and later municipality as well as Akershus Fortress, the main fief and main county of Akershus which included most of Eastern Norway until 1919, the smaller county of Akershus, and numerous institutions within this area. The Aker municipality was in terms of population by far the largest municipality of Akershus county. It surrounded the capital city of Christiania (renamed Oslo in 1925) until 1948; Aker was 27 times larger than the capital it surrounded.
