Bennett Stirtz
Bennett Stirtz is an American college basketball player for the Iowa Hawkeyes of the Big Ten Conference. He previously played for the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats and Drake Bulldogs. Early life and high school Stirtz grew up in Liberty, Missouri and attended Liberty High School. He played basketball at Liberty and was coached by his father. Stirtz was named first-team All-State as a senior after averaging 18.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. College career Stirtz began his college career at Northwest Missouri State. He was named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Freshman of the Year and second-team All-MIAA in his first season with the Bearcats. Stirtz repeated as a second-team All-MIAA selection as a sophomore after averaging 15.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Benjamin Matthew McCollum (born April 12, 1981) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head men's basketball coach at the University of Iowa. Biography McCollum was born in Iowa City, Iowa, and grew up in Storm Lake, Iowa, where he graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1999. He played basketball for two years at North Iowa Area Community College before transferring in 2001 to Northwest Missouri State, where he played for Steve Tappmeyer as the school made its first Elite Eight appearance.
