Benjamín Clariond Reyes-Retana is a Mexican politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) who has served as a federal deputy ( Nuevo León's 1st district), municipal president (mayor) of Monterrey and as interim governor of the state of Nuevo León after the resignation of Sócrates Rizzo. The Institutional Revolutionary Party (, , PRI) is a List of political parties in Mexico, political party in Mexico that was founded in 1929 as the National Revolutionary Party (, PNR), then as the Party of the Mexican Revolution (, PRM) and finally as the PRI beginning in 1946. Fernando Canales Clariond
Fernando de Jesús Canales Clariond (born July 21, 1946) is a Mexican politician and businessman affiliated with the National Action Party (PAN). He succeeded his cousin, Benjamín Clariond as governor of Nuevo León in 1997. He also served as Secretary of Economy and as Secretary of Energy in the cabinet of Vicente Fox.
