Benidorm
Benidorm ( , , ) is a municipality in the province of Alicante, Valencian Community, on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. Known as the “New York City, New York of the Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean”, Benidorm has been a tourist destination within Spain since 1925, when its port was extended and the first hotels were built, though it would not be until the 1950s that it became renowned as a summer destination for people coming from inland Spain, especially Madrid. Today it is known for its hotel industry, beaches, and skyscrapers and receives as many tourists from abroad as from Spain. According to the 2020 census, Benidorm has a permanent population of 70,450 inhabitants, making it the fifth-most populous town in the Province of Alicante, Alicante province and the ninth in Valencian Community. West Beach Promenade
West Beach Promenade is the promenade located in ''Playa de Poniente'' (West Beach), one of three beaches in Benidorm, Spain. The architects who designed this were partners Carlos Ferrater and Xavier Marti Gali. Carlos started The Office of Architecture in Barcelona (OAB) in 2006 with the help of Xavier and others. The project has received several awards including first prize in the 2006 ASPRIMA Prizes for the best tourist development, first prize in the VIII Ceramics Awards for Architecture organized by ASCER, and special mention in the European Award of Urban Public Space 2010. Intempo
Intempo is a 47-floor, 187-metre-high skyscraper building in Benidorm, Spain. The design of the building was officially presented on 19 January 2006 and work began in 2007. Originally scheduled for completion in 2009, work was significantly hampered by the economic crisis of 2008 which seriously affected the real estate sector in Spain. Construction was almost completed in March 2014, but the sponsor undertaking the project went into bankruptcy. In 2018, the building was acquired by SVP Global, and was fully finished by mid-2021. Neguri Gane
Neguri Gane is a 148 meter-skyscraper located in Benidorm, Spain. The 43 story building began construction in 1998, and was completed in 2002. Upon completion, it was Benidorm's largest building, having since been overtaken by Gran Hotel Bali, though the building is still the largest residential building in Benidorm, and all of Spain. Gran Hotel Bali
Gran Hotel Bali is a hotel rating, 4-star hotel located in Benidorm, province of Alicante (province), Alicante, Spain. At 186 meters and 52 storeys high, it is the tallest building on Europe's Mediterranean coast. It was the tallest building in Spain surpassing Torre Picasso in 2002, until November 2007 when it was overtaken by Torre Espacio. The hotel opened on 17th May 2002. The hotel, which is a set of four buildings, was designed by architect Antonio Escario and has 776 rooms (with capacity for up to 2,000 guests), 18 lifts, gardens and swimming pools. Marina Baixa
Marina Baixa (; ; lit. "Lower Marina") is a ''comarca'' in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is bordered by the ''comarques'' of Comtat on the northwest, Marina Alta on the northeast, Alacantí and Alcoià on the west and the Mediterranean Sea on the east.
