Bengt Lönnbom
Generalmajor (Sweden), Major General Bengt Arne Vilhelm Lönnbom (22 July 1933 – 8 August 2024) was a Swedish Air Force officer. Lönnbom served as Chief of the Air Staff (Sweden), Chief of the Air Staff from 1984 to 1987 and as military commander of the Lower Norrland Military District from 1987 to 1993. Early life Lönnbom was born on 22 July 1933 in Lund's City Parish (''Lunds stadsförsamling'') in Malmöhus County, Sweden. Career Military career Lönnbom graduated from the Swedish Air Force Flying School in 1956 and was commissioned as an officer the same year at Scania Wing with the rank of second lieutenant, where he served from 1956 to 1967, including as division commander. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1958 and to captain in 1964. Major General Bert Göran Stenfeldt (12 August 1933 – 10 December 2023) was a Swedish Air Force officer. Stenfeldt served as Chief of the Air Staff from 1987 to 1990 and as the Commander General of the 1st Air Command from 1990 to 1994. Early life Lönnbom was born on 12 August 1933 in Saint Paul Parish (''Sankt Pauli församling'') in Malmö, Malmöhus County, Sweden, the son of Harald Persson and his wife Agnes (née Stenfeldt). Major General Evert Karl Erik Båge (25 August 1925 – 21 January 2021) was a Swedish Air Force officer. Båge served as Chief of the Air Staff from 1980 to 1984 and as head of the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College from 1984 to 1990. Early life Båge was born on 25 August 1925 in Alingsås Parish, Älvsborg County, Sweden, the son of Erik Båge, a repairer, and his wife Selma. Båge passed ''studentexamen'' in 1945. Career Båge graduated from the Swedish Air Force Flying School in 1948 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in Svea Wing. Major (Maj) (, Mj) is a field grade military officer rank in the Swedish Armed Forces, above the rank of captain and below the rank of lieutenant colonel.
