Belforêt-en-Perche
Belforêt-en-Perche (, literally ''Belforêt in Perche'') is a Communes of France, commune in the Departments of France, department of Orne, northwestern France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2017 by merger of the former communes of Le Gué-de-la-Chaîne (the seat), Eperrais, Origny-le-Butin, La Perrière, Orne, La Perrière, Saint-Ouen-de-la-Cour and Sérigny, Orne, Sérigny. La Perrière is classed as a Petites Cités de Caractère. Geography Belforêt-en-Perche along with the communes of Vaunoise, Saint-Martin-du-Vieux-Bellême, Igé, Orne, Igé and Appenai-sous-Bellême is part of the Bois et coteaux calcaires sous Belleme a Natura 2000 conservation site. The site measures 105 hectares and is home to the Lucanus cervus, European stag beetle and Fraxinus excelsior, European ash.
