Belarus–Croatia Relations
Croatia and Belarus established diplomatic relations on 22 September 1992. Though geographically not very close, Croatia and Belarus are both Slavic countries and thus share certain cultural and linguistic similarities. Croatia is represented in Belarus through its embassy in Moscow (Russia), while Belarus is represented in Croatia through its embassy in Budapest (Hungary). Relations Mutual recognition occurred on 2 September 1992. Croatian and Belarus signed bilateral treaties on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments in 2001, for the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion on income and capital in 2003, on international road transport in 2005, on cooperation in the field of tourism in 2010 and many others. Croatia
Croatia, officially the Republic of Croatia, is a country in Central Europe, Central and Southeast Europe, on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Slavs

An apostolic nuncio (; also known as a papal nuncio or simply as a nuncio) is an ecclesiastical diplomat, serving as an envoy or a permanent diplomatic representative of the Holy See to a state or to an international organization. Martin Vidović
Martin Vidović (born 15 July 1953) is a Croatian prelate of the Catholic Church who was Apostolic Nuncio to Belarus from 2004 to 2011. Martin Vidović was born on 15 July 1953 in Vidonje, Croatia. He was ordained a priest on 28 May 1989. He managed Croatian-language programming for Vatican Radio from 1983 to 1994. Diplomatic career He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 19 September 1994. Among other assignments, he was secretary of the nunciature in Bosnia-Herzegovina from 1994 to 1999. On 15 September 2004, Pope John Paul II named him titular bishop of Nona and Apostolic Nuncio to Belarus. Belarus–European Union Relations
Mutual relations between the Republic of Belarus and the European Union (EU) were initially established after the European Economic Community recognised Belarusian independence in 1991. After Alexander Lukashenko became the Belarusian leader in 1994, the relationship between Minsk and the EU deteriorated and has remained cold and distanced, as the EU has condemned the government of Belarus several times for authoritarian and anti-democratic practices, and even imposed sanctions on the country.
