Beatriz Roldán Cuenya
Beatriz Roldán Cuenya (born 1976 in Oviedo) is a Spanish physicist working in surface science and catalysis. Since 2017 she has been director of the Department of Interface Science at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society in Berlin, Germany. Since April 2023, she has also been interim director of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, also at the Fritz Haber Institute. Professional career Roldán Cuenya studied at the University of Oviedo in Spain and received her doctorate degree from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany under the supervision of Werner Keune. As a postdoc she worked at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the group of Eric McFarland and subsequently became professor at the University of Central Florida in Orlando (USA). Oviedo
Oviedo () or Uviéu (Asturian language, Asturian: ) is the capital city of the Principality of Asturias in northern Spain and the administrative and commercial centre of the region. Peter Strasser (chemist)
Peter Strasser (born in Heilbronn) is a German chemist. He is the winner of the 2021 Faraday Medal. Career Strasser studied chemistry at the University of Tübingen, at Stanford University ( John Ross), and at the University of Pisa and obtained his Diplom in Physical Chemistry in 1995. He conducted his doctoral research under the direction of Gerhard Ertl and obtained his PhD in Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry from the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society in 1999. He joined Symyx Technologies, Silicon Valley as a postdoctoral associate and was later promoted to Senior Member of staff and served as project leader in Electrocatalysis and Heterogeneous Catalysis.
