Cyprus Turkish Football Federation
The Cyprus Turkish Football Association (, KTFF) is the governing body of football in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Established on 29 October 1955, during British colonial rule in Cyprus, it was affiliated with the N.F.-Board from 2003 until the board's dissolution in 2013. Since 2013, the KTFF has been affiliated with the Confederation of Independent Football Associations. League system Süper Lig is the top division of the TRNC Football Federation. Northern Cyprus, officially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), is a '' de facto'' state that comprises the northeastern portion of the island of Cyprus. It is recognised only by Turkey, and its territory is considered by all other states to be part of the Republic of Cyprus. Gönyeli S
Gönyeli (; ) is a town in Cyprus, near the capital city Nicosia. It is '' de facto'' under the control of Northern Cyprus. Over the years the town has merged with North Nicosia, making it connurbated with the city. Its population is 11,671. History Before the Ottoman conquest of Cyprus in 1571, the area consisted of empty fields. Upon the conquest, two families from Anatolia that of Kurt Ali from Anamur and Mehmet Efendi from Aksaray, settled here and founded Gönyeli. Over time, as the families grew in population, the village grew as a Turkish-speaking farming community.
