Bača (river)
The Bača () is a river in northwestern Slovenia with a length of . It runs from Bača pri Podbrdu to Bača pri Modreju, where it joins the Idrijca, Idrijca River as its last right tributary. It has a pluvio-nival regime and belongs to the Adriatic Sea Basin. The Bača River is the basis of the name of the area it flows through, known as the Bača Gorge () or Bača Valley (). Ecology A survey of the Bača's hyporheic zone—the network of saturated sediments beneath and alongside the stream bed—was carried out in January, March and May 2005. Idrijca
The Idrijca is a river flowing through the Idrija Hills and Cerkno Hills in Slovenia. It is long. It rises near Vojsko, Idrija, Vojsko, flows towards northeast and after passing through Idrija turns to the northwest. After passing through Spodnja Idrija and Cerkno it joins the Soča in Most na Soči. It has a pluvio-nival regime and belongs to the Adriatic Sea Basin. Hydrogeochemical features The Idrijca drains a 624 km2 drainage basin, basin on the southwestern flank of the Julian Alps. It rises on the Vojsko Plateau () at about 924 m height above mean sea level, ASL and flows northeast through Idrija before turning northwest toward its confluence with the Soča at Most na Soči. Chironomidae
Chironomidae , commonly known as non-biting midges or chironomids , are a family of Nematoceran flies with a global distribution. They are closely related to the families Ceratopogonidae, Simuliidae, and Thaumaleidae. Although many chironomid species superficially resemble mosquitoes, they can be distinguished by the absence of wing scales and elongated mouthparts characteristic of the Culicidae (true mosquitoes).
