Arne Larsen Økland (born 31 May 1954) is a Norwegian former footballer who played as a striker for Vard Haugesund, Bryne, Bayer Leverkusen and Racing Club de Paris. He was capped 54 times for Norway, scoring 13 goals and he is regarded as one of the best Norwegian players of his generation. He later coached Bryne and Viking. Club career Økland was born in Bømlo and began his career at the local club Bremnes before he moved to Vard Haugesund ahead of the 1972 season. In 1976 the club played their sole season in the Norwegian top division and Økland scored 11 goals, and made his international debut the same year. Despite Økland's efforts, Vard were relegated at the end of the season, and he then transferred to Bryne. Club career Born in Essen, Hörster spent his first three seasons as a professional with local Schwarz-Weiß Essen, in the second division. For 1977–78 he signed with another club in the league, Bayer 04 Leverkusen. After winning promotion to the Bundesliga in 1979, Hörster was an essential defensive unit for Bayer in the following 13 seasons, his lowest input being 24 games in the 1981–82 campaign. Franz-Peter Hermann (born 22 March 1952) is a German football coach and former player who was most recently assistant coach of Borussia Dortmund. Managerial career Hermann took over Bayer Leverkusen from 1 June 1991 to 30 June 1991, 8 April 1995 to 10 April 1995, and 28 April 1996 to 30 June 1996. Jürgen Gelsdorf (born 19 January 1953) is a German football coach and former player who is currently youth teams coordinator at Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Sporting career As a player For the 1972/73 season, 19-year-old junior soccer player Jürgen Gelsdorf joined Arminia Bielefeld from MSV Duisburg in the Regionalliga West. The "Alm" had to be rebuilt after its forced relegation from the Bundesliga in 1971/72. The team relied on talents like Hans-Jürgen Wloka (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Bernd Wehmeyer (Bielefeld's own amateurs) and therefore also signed the talented defensive player Gelsdorf. Dieter Herzog (born 15 July 1946 in Oberhausen) is a former German international football player. Herzog played more than 350 Bundesliga matches (69 goals) for Fortuna Düsseldorf and Bayer 04 Leverkusen in his professional career, after starting his senior career with Sportfreunde Hamborn 07 in a lower division and joining Düsseldorf a year before the club returned to the Bundesliga in 1971. He was part of the Düsseldorf team that ended third in the Bundesliga in 1972–73 and 1973–74, the season in which he made the biggest impact.
