Basud, officially the Municipality of Basud (; ), is a municipality in the province of Camarines Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 45,133 people. Geography The municipality has a total land area of , representing about 11.59 percent of the total land area of the province. Basud is from Daet and from Manila. Barangays Basud is politically subdivided into 29 barangays. Each barangay consists of puroks and some have sitios. On June 6, 1988, Barangay Poblacion was divided into two through the initiative of late Municipal Councilor Modesto A. Zepeda during the incumbency of then Mayor Silverio F. Daet
Daet (), officially the Municipality of Daet (; ), is a municipality and capital of the province of Camarines Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 111,700 people making it the most populous in the province. The municipality is a popular surfing spot among surfers worldwide. It is also home to the annual Daet International Aerosports Show which is first held in 2013. Daet is from Manila. Etymology The name ''Daet'' was derived from the Bikol word ''dai-daitan'' which means, ''close to each other''. Manide Language
Manide is a Philippine language spoken throughout the province of Camarines Norte in Bicol region and near the eastern edge of Quezon in Southern Tagalog of southern Luzon in the Philippines. Manide is spoken by nearly 4,000 Negrito people, most of whom reside in the towns of Labo, Jose Panganiban, and Paracale. History Between 1903 and 1924, John M. Garvan (1963) visited Negrito Filipino communities in the region of Luzon and recorded the name Manide. Many of the Manide population children still grow up speaking Manide. Central Bikol, commonly called Bikol Naga or simply Bikol, is an Austronesian language spoken by the Bicolanos, primarily in the Bicol Region of southern Luzon, Philippines.
