Bastuträsk
Bastuträsk (;) is a locality situated in Norsjö Municipality, Västerbotten County, Sweden with 392 inhabitants in 2010. The village was mainly constructed around its railway station being built there in 1892, when a railway line connecting Långsele and Boden opened. In the 1950s, Bastuträsk had as much as approximately 1000 inhabitants but has since then become strongly depopulated. Bastuträsk has many small businesses, among those persistent for decades have been a sausage factory and a sawmill/woodshop. It is also still a fairly trafficked railway hub, which serves Skellefteå (approximately 40 km to the east) via buses. Approximately 5 kilometers north from the town, along the lake after which it is named (''Bastuträsket'') is the traditional village ''Bastuträsk By''. Norsjö Municipality () is a municipalities of Sweden, municipality in Västerbotten County in northern Sweden. Its administrative centre, seat is located in Norsjö. In 1974 Norsjö and Malå Municipality, Malå municipalities were amalgamated, forming the new Norsjö Municipality. In 1983 Malå Municipality was re-established within the pre-1974 borders. Skellefteå (, locally ) is a Cities in Sweden, city in Västerbotten County, Sweden, with a population of 36,388. It is the seat of Skellefteå Municipality, which had 77,322 inhabitants in 2024. The city is historically industrial, with mining being a large part of that industry, especially for gold, leading to the city being nicknamed ''Guldstaden'' ("gold town"). Boden (, outdatedly , Lule Sámi: ''Suttes'') is a locality and the seat of Boden Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden, with 16,847 inhabitants in 2018. It is part of the larger area around coastal city Luleå some southeast. After Kiruna, it is the second largest town in Northern Sweden's interior. History The town of Boden started as a railway junction where the Northern Line ('' Norra stambanan'', opened 1894) met with the Ore Line ('' Malmbanan'') from the rich iron ore fields in northern Sweden. The town experienced increased growth when the Boden Fortress was constructed in the beginning of the 20th century. Haparanda
Haparanda (; Meänkieli and Finnish: ''Haaparanta'', ) is a locality and the seat of Haparanda Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden. It is adjacent to Tornio, Finland. Haparanda has a population of 9,166 inhabitants (2024). Haparanda is located near the Sweden-Finland border, at the northerly extreme of the Swedish coastline, as well as the easternmost point in Sweden, far removed from large cities. Its summers are very warm for a coastal location so far north, and winters are normally not extremely cold in spite of the relative proximity to the Arctic Circle. Sawmill
A sawmill (saw mill, saw-mill) or lumber mill is a facility where logging, logs are cut into lumber.
