Basford, Nottingham
Basford is a northerly suburb of Nottingham, in Nottinghamshire, England, incorporated into the city in 1877. It gave its name to Basford Rural District, which existed from 1894 to 1974. The ward population at the 2011 census was 16,207, estimated at 16,779 in 2019. Next to Old Basford is New Basford, which is mainly Victorian. Basford lies close to the River Leen, a tributary of the River Trent. It is linked to Nottingham City Centre to the south and Hucknall and Bulwell to the north by the Nottingham Express Transit tram service. Grantham () is a market town and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, situated on the banks of the River Witham and bounded to the west by the A1 road. The Football Association Challenge Trophy, also known as the Isuzu FA Trophy for sponsorship reasons, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after The Football Association (the FA) and competed by mainly National League teams. The competition was introduced in 1969. Eligibility rules have changed over time, but from 2008 onwards the competition has been open to clubs playing in Steps 1–4 of the National League System, equivalent to tiers 5–8 of the overall English football league system. The 2022–23 FA Cup qualifying rounds opened the 142nd edition of the FA Cup, the world's oldest association football single knockout competition, organised by The Football Association, the governing body for the sport in England. 640 teams in the 5th to 10th tier of English football competed across six rounds for 32 spots in the First round proper. Eligibility Applications to enter qualifying opened on 25 February 2022 and closed on 1 April 2022. John Ramshaw
John Ramshaw is a football coach and manager who most recently served as the interim manager of Shepshed Dynamo F.C. in the Midlands division of the Northern Premier League. Career Ramshaw began his career at Notts County from 1978 until 1983. He gained his English FA Full Licence (UEFA A Licence equivalent) in 1981. In 1984 Ramshaw joined Shepshed Charterhouse as player-coach in the Southern League. Placed in the bottom three when he joined them, Shepshed finished in fifth place, narrowly missing out on promotion to the Football Conference. The following year Ramshaw returned to the professional game with Nottingham Forest, looking after their Associate Schoolboy programme for two years. He returned to non-League management with Oakham United in the Central Midlands Football League in 1986, signing a young Dion Dublin (before facilitating his move to Norwich City) and leading the club to the Central Midlands Football League Cup semi-finals.
