Bas Giling
Bastiaan "Bas" Giling (born 4 November 1982 in Alkmaar, North Holland) is a Dutch former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2005 and 2009. He rode in one Grand Tour (cycling), Grand Tour, the 2006 Vuelta a España, finishing 125th overall. Giling is the cousin of cyclists Matthé Pronk and Jos Pronk. Alkmaar
Alkmaar () is a List of cities in the Netherlands by province, city and List of municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the Netherlands, located in the Provinces of the Netherlands, province of North Holland. The oldest part of Alkmaar lies on an ancient sand bank a couple of meters (yards) above the surrounding region; it afforded some protection from inundation during medieval times.
