Baruničina Ljubav
''Baruničina ljubav'' () (lit. "Baroness’ love") is a novel written by Croatian writer Ante Kovačić. He dedicated this novel to his wife Milka, naming one character after her. ''Baruničina ljubav'' was published in 1877 and appeared in ''Vijenac'' (literary magazine). Kovačić discussed ''Baruničina ljubav'' with Rikard Jorgovanić in 1878. When he was writing ''Baruničina ljubav'', Kovačić was influenced by Eugène Sue and French novelist Honoré de Balzac. He described the Oedipus complex. Kovačić was born in Hrvatsko Zagorje and wanted to describe that region in his works. He described it in ''Baruničina ljubav'' perfectly. Marie-Joseph "Eugène" Sue (; 26 January 18043 August 1857) was a French novelist. Hrvatsko Zagorje (; Croatian Zagorje; ''zagorje'' is Croatian language, Croatian for 'backland' or 'behind the hills') is a cultural region in northern Croatia, traditionally separated from the country's capital Zagreb by the Medvednica mountains. It comprises the whole area north of Mount Medvednica up to Slovenia in the north and west, and up to the regions of Međimurje and Podravina in the north and east. The population of Zagorje is not recorded as such, as it is administratively divided among Krapina-Zagorje County (total population 142,432), and western and central part of Varaždin County (total population 183,730). Oedipus Complex
In classical psychoanalytic theory, the Oedipus complex is a son's sexual attitude towards his mother and concomitant hostility toward his father, first formed during the phallic stage of psychosexual development. A daughter's attitude of desire for her father and hostility toward her mother is referred to as the feminine (or female) Oedipus complex. Rikard Jorgovanić (born Rikard Flieder, 11 April 1853 – 24 October 1880) was a Croatian writer, editor, and poet. The son of a Bohemian-born parent of German ethnicity, his Croatianized last name was calqued after German ''Flieder''.
