Bartolomé Masó () is a municipality and town in the Granma Province of Cuba. Overview The municipality was named after the Cuban patriot Bartolomé Masó, Bartolomé Masó Márquez. It is the home of the ''Comandancia General de La Plata'', headquarters of the Cuban Revolution, Cuban revolutionaries around Fidel Castro and today a museum, located in the Sierra Maestra mountains. The Köppen climate classification divides Earth climates into five main climate groups, with each group being divided based on patterns of seasonal precipitation and temperature. Guamá is a municipality in the Santiago de Cuba Province of Cuba. The municipal seat is located in the town of Chivirico. Buey Arriba
Buey Arriba is a mountainous municipality and town in the Granma Province of Cuba. It is located in the northern part of the Sierra Maestra, south of Bayamo, the provincial capital. Etymology When Spanish Empire, Spanish colonizers settled in this area, they encountered a peaceful mountain river with crystal-clear waters, but the sudden, heavy floods during the rainy season caused many disasters. The river's force was compared to that of an ox, giving it the name ''Buey'' (Spanish for ox). Today, it still bears the name ''Río Buey''. Two settlements were founded on the banks of the Buey River, Río Buey. The first one, located in the Sierra Maestra mountains, was named ''Buey Arriba'', and the second one, in the plains, was called ''Buey Abajo''. Sierra Maestra
The Sierra Maestra is a mountain range that runs westward across the south of the old Oriente Province in southeast Cuba, rising abruptly from the coast. The range falls mainly within the Santiago de Cuba and in Granma Provinces. Some view it as a series of connecting ranges (Vela, Santa Catalina, Quemado Grande, Daña Mariana), which join with others to the west.
