Barisan Nasional
Barisan Nasional (BN; ) is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1974 as a coalition of centre-right and right-wing political parties to succeed the Alliance Party. It is the third largest political coalition with 30 seats in the Dewan Rakyat after Pakatan Harapan (PH) with 82 seats and Perikatan Nasional (PN) with 74 seats. The coalition consists of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC), and United Sabah People's Party (PBRS). The Barisan Nasional coalition employs the same inter-communal governing model of its predecessor the Alliance Party but on a wider scale, with up to 14 communal political parties involved in the coalition at one point. Nanyang Siang Pau
''Nanyang Siang Pau'' or ''Nanyang Business Daily'' is a Malaysian Chinese daily newspaper. Originally founded in Singapore on 6 September 1923 by philanthropist-entrepreneur Tan Kah Kee, its original newspaper circulated across the Straits Settlements. It is the oldest Chinese-language newspaper in Malaysia behind '' Kwong Wah Yit Poh''. It has been published continuously aside from four months between 1923 and 1924, and during World War II from 1942 until resuming publication on 8 September 1945. Malayan Union
The Malayan Union (; Jawi: كساتوان مالايا) was a union of the Malay states and the Straits Settlements of Penang and Malacca. It was the successor to British Malaya and was conceived to unify the Malay Peninsula under a single government to simplify administration. Following opposition by the ethnic Malays, the union was reorganised as the Federation of Malaya in 1948. Formation of the Malayan Union Prior to World War II, British Malaya consisted of three groups of polities: the protectorate of the Federated Malay States, five protected Unfederated Malay States and the crown colony of the Straits Settlements. ''Ketuanan Melayu'' ( Jawi: ; "Malay Overlordship" or "Malay Supremacy") is a political concept that emphasises Malay power and preeminence in present-day Malaysia.
